Misty Odell is a singer-songwriter from Wray, Colorado, currently residing in Los Angeles.
Her early childhood went a little something like this: age 4 - received first guitar; age 8 - constantly in trouble at school, thrown into guitar lessons for 6 months; age 12 - still getting into trouble, thrown into guitar lessons for another 6 months; ages 13 through 21; basketball, basketball, basketball, and some guitar. After attending Chadron State College (Nebraska) on a basketball scholarship, Misty used her B.A. in Criminal Justice to begin a career in Juvenile Corrections in Denver, Colorado. After five years in Corrections, Misty made the move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. In February 2015, Misty released her third album "The Struggle" - an innovative compilation of powerful string arrangements, driving rhythms, and heartfelt lyrics. The album features electric and acoustic guitars, horns, bass, drums, piano, cellos, violins, and synthesizers - all contributions by some of California's best touring and studio musicians. Misty has played a number of prominent venues across the US, including LA's Viper Room, House of Blues, Hotel Cafe, and Whiskey Go-Go. Misty recently returned from a 4 month backpacking trip in Europe and Nova Scotia, where she was busking, performing, and promoting her new album.
